Privacy Policy for Educational Programs

All educational programs on this website are made available through the www.DowdenCME.com Online Education Platform. By choosing an educational activity, you will be taken to DowdenCME.com and the follow Privacy Policies apply.

DowdenCME.com will make every effort to protect the privacy of every individual user of this website and will use information gathered on users only to maintain records as required by the American Medical Association and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

DowdenCME.com does not require individuals to "register" to use this site with the exception of physicians and other health care providers who desire to receive CME/CE credit for accredited educational programs on the site. Physicians and other health care professionals, as well as other individual users, may use any portion of the site they desire, including the accredited programs, but to receive CME/CE credit for accredited activities, physicians and other health care professionals must register to complete these activities.

If an individual completes a CME or other accredited activity on DowdenCME.com, we are required by the American Medical Association (AMA), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), or any other accrediting organizations, to collect personal information on the individual, such as their name, address, and phone number, that will allow us to issue a CME/CE Certificate to them and to keep this information on file for up to 6 years.

Personal information provided to DowdenCME.com will be used only to meet AMA and ACCME requirements and to issue CME/CE Certificates to those who complete these educational activities. Information gathered on individuals who complete a CME/CE activity on DowdenCME.com is stored in a secure database and is restricted to appropriate members of the Dowden Health Media. We use these databases to verify individual participation in a CME/CE activity and to re-issue a certificate to and individual if the certificate is lost or misplaced.

Personal information gathered will not be released to any other company or organization for any purpose. This information remains totally confidential. At the end of the mandatory 6-year period, these records will be permanently destroyed.

DowdenCME.com uses website tracking software to determine how the website is used. This software allows us to determine where users of DowdenCME.com go on the site. It also tells us what browsers individuals are using, how long they stayed on the site, what areas they visited, and how they found us on the Internet, i.e., through a link with another site, through a search engine, or if they just entered our URL (DowdenCME.com). This helps us determine what portions of the site are important to our users and how they found us so we can better meet the needs of our users. This software does not identify an individual personally.
